PARISHIONERS WHO COOK – On May 18th, our parish will be hosting a “Parishioners Who Cook” fund raiser. This will be an opportunity for approximately 45 parishioners to show the entire parish their “special” dish. We are asking you to submit an application which will describe the dish you will create. The “Parishioners Who Cook” Committee will look at each application and from there determine approximately 45 parishioners. Application forms and the box to return them are on the table in the Gathering Space. The committee will be looking for diversity of items from the applicants. At the event, we will ask each cook to have 200 sample-size servings of their dish prepared for tasting. Parishioners attending the event will be able to sample items from each of the cooks. The Parish will provide all plates, napkins, utensils. At the event, parishioners will also have the opportunity to purchase a regular size portion of your dish, and/or order a portion to be picked up at church later.  Parishioners will fill out an order form.  You as the cook will     have to let this committee know how many portions of your dish and what size of the portion you are willing to provide for that night and for ordering later, and what date you will deliver the items to church for pick-up by the purchaser. All income from the sales will go to the Pope John Parish.
We are also going to take each recipe and make it into a cookbook. We would encourage you to provide a second favorite recipe that will be added to the cookbook. This cookbook will available for sale that night and for weeks afterwards through the Parish office.
